Why Nothing You've Watched About AI Has Stuck

Let me guess how this has gone.

Somebody at work mentions ChatGPT. Every other video in your feed is some guy yelling that AI changes everything. So you try it. You type a question. You get an answer that sounds smart and doesn't help.

So you go to YouTube. "10 Prompts That Will Change Your Life." "The AI Tool Nobody Is Talking About." You watch a few. You save a dozen more for later. You sign up for a tool or two.

Three weeks later a new model comes out, and half of what you learned doesn't apply anymore.

Here's why it hasn't stuck: you've been learning AI backwards.

YouTube hands you tricks. Random ones, out of order, and a lot of them are out of date by the time you hit play. Tricks don't stack. Without the foundation underneath them, every update feels like starting over... because it is.

I've been at this a long time. Direct response marketing since 1994. Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer since 1998. Today I'm a Chief AI Officer running three AI companies.
